A superscript number at the end of a name indicates the

generation from the Mayflower passenger.  (John Alden¹). 

 

A Roman numeral after a person's name indicates their birth order.

 

A series of characters beginning with "v" indicates a reference to

“Mayflower Families Through Five Generations”, (Silver books).

Examples: 

v8-p.47 = Volume 8, page 47

v17-32 = Volume 17, person 32.  

v16.3-705 = Volume 16, Part 3, person 705.

 

Spouses who are also Mayflower descendants are

indicated by + or, ++ if both parents were descendants.
